TIME Investments’ is delighted to announce that TIME:Commercial Long Income has completed its acquisition of a purpose-built logistics facility let to DHL in October 2020.

The asset, which is the second largest within the portfolio has presented the opportunity for the Fund to invest and gain exposure to a high-tech purpose-built distribution warehouse. The highly attractive logistics sector is thriving in the e-commerce revolution and has maintained strong demand growth throughout 2020 and the changing COVID-19 climate. Income visibility and security are supported by the long-dated investment nature of the lease, let for 20 years to DHL with a guarantee from its parent company, Deutsche Post, which is currently the world’s largest courier company.

DHL is committed to reducing the impact of its business on the environment and employs several measures that work towards reducing its carbon footprint and improving environmental measures. At a business level, DHL intends for all logistics-related emissions to be reduced to zero by 2050. In addition, the following features are in place on this particular asset to reduce its impact on the environment:

  • BREEAM ‘very good’ rating (BREEAM is the world’s leading sustainability assessment method within construction, buildings, and infrastructure. For more information, click here.
  • LED lighting used throughout the facility
  • Site-specific optimised natural light into the warehouse via roof lights and/or wall lights considering area use, light, and heat
  • Solar thermal pre-heating of hot water

This asset joins a number of other high-quality properties within the TIME:Commercial Long Income portfolio, more information on these can be found here.
